What product are manufacturers showing?
Riding on the skirt-tails of Interbike, the Ford Ironman Demo Days offered competitors and spectators in Kona the chance to try out the industry's latest gear. There were loads of seminars with top pros and coaches, athlete signings, demonstrations, and free giveaways.

Kona 2010 promised to live up to the world's expectation as multisport's most classic race and it certainly was!  With the absence of returning champion and Kona course record holder, Chrissie Wellington, it was an incredible professional and age group race, and of course, a day filled with inspiring stories.

Manufacturers thoughts on the Tri-Market and where it's headed?

Triathlon is here to stay.

Every vendor sees triathlon as a growing segment with no signs of slowing.  The numbers have shown it this year with a significant increase in number of athletes participating in Ironman events all around the world.  Nearly every Ironman and Ironman 70.3 has been sold out.

The big industry news for the future for Kona 2011?  With the Ford Ironman Demo Days sold out this year in record timing, vendors plan to be back with a more significant presence in 2011. In preparation for this growing need, Ironman and  wattieink have partnered up for the 2011 event.

Fun Question Asked Around Town: Coolest place to hang?
K-Swiss Trek area.  (loved the K-Swiss DJ!!)
Kona Expo Stage (informational and got to meet athletes!)
Endless Pool (more interactive atmosphere)

Kona Bike Count (info: involves five hours of tallying bikes, wheels, saddles, aerobars, aero helmets, power meters, and components as athletes check in their bikes the day before the race. The count gives the industry a scope of the previous year’s buying trends and an idea of who the players will be for the following year.)
